VIZIO D70-D3 D-Series 70 Inch LED Smart TV Review

What an age to live in if you are a fan of big and beautiful televisions! There was a time when anything over 36 inches would have a trade off with a picture that wasn’t as clear or sharp. The technology just wasn’t around two decades ago, or even really a decade ago. However that has changed, and many large TVs are coming out that are well built, have incredible pictures, and are relatively affordable compared to the old price models. The VIZIO D70-D3 D-Series features 70 inch LED TVs that do not disappoint!

High Quality Smart TV

This model is a Smart TV, meaning it can be hooked up to a computer or connect to the Internet directly, allowing a wide array of options like Netflix, Amazon Video, or even surfing the web via a wireless keyboard and mouse.

The display is LED with 1080p resolution, giving it a picture quality that most owners are going to be absolutely thrilled with. Wi-Fi is built into the actual TV, meaning a connecting cord is not necessary the way some older models are set up.

Other Benefits

The TV’s dimensions are 65.6 x 7.9 x 40.5 inches and one great thing about the VIZIO D70-D3 D-Series is that while a couple batteries are required, this television is considered Energy Star approved, so it won’t be constantly sucking up the energy while turned off. The shipping weight is registered at 22 pounds, which also shows just how light weight this television is, another major bonus for people who remember the old days of having to move around a big box TV.

General Reception

The general reception has been good. Currently it has 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon, though many of the lower ratings are based on problems with individual sellers or the item damaged while shipping and not with the actual performance of the item itself.

Not everyone is thrilled with the side scrolling action when using the more Internet or online based components, but generally the picture quality has been seen as exceptional and the LED TV has proven more than capable of bringing out the absolute best in Blu-Ray movies.

This is one of the top of the line products that VIZIO has when it comes to high definition television and if you have had good impressions of their products in the past and positive experiences, there’s no reason to believe this one will be any different. The effort has obviously been put in to create a top notch television, and at 70 inches you are getting a lot of TV for your buck.

So What’s The Final Verdict?

When it comes to comparing the really advanced TVs, it’s sometimes hard to tell which one fits your needs. Can you really tell the difference between one high level LED display and another or at that point are we talking about differences so small most people can’t perceive them?

There’s a lot to love about a good TV, and VIZIO’s 70 inch D70-D3 D-Series definitely makes the grade.

This is one of the most attractive features of this model. You can instantly enjoy latest movies, TV shows, audio and many other premium apps from the internet straight to your TV. There are some apps that come installed with your TV, but you have the chance to add other apps you may be interested in. With a good internet connection, you will be able to fully enjoy the full benefits of a smart TV.

Full-Array LED Backlight

This distributes LEDs behind the entire screen delivering a superior light uniformity. It also has Active LED zones that adjust dynamically the backlight per zone creating deeper, more pure black and high levels of contrast.

Built-in Wi-Fi

It has built-in Wi-Fi that will enable you to use the smart features of your TV. You will get a clutter-free access to the Vizio internet Apps Plus.

With this refresh rate, you will be able to get a powerful image processing that will deliver a sharp detail when you are watching fast action scenes or a game.

Ports

Reviewing The Lenovo IdeaPad N20P Chromebook

The Lenovo N20P Chromebook has managed to set the bar higher for what a tablet and what a Chromebook can be. It has a few really great features that aren’t yet commonplace with Chromebooks. It has a responsive touch screen, which is something only seen with the higher-end Chromebooks. Albeit, the N20P is one of the more expensive models. All of the included features make it worth it.

Style

The N20P Chromebook gets several points for style. Lenovo have attempted to break away from their more well-known “business design” approach and go for something a little more stylish. It features a smooth, gray top with the Chrome and Lenovo logos. It’s small, lightweight, and ultraportable.

As with most ultraportable laptops, it’s designed to taper away towards the front edges. This makes it feel even smaller than it really is. It’s around 1.8 centimeters thick and weighs less than three pounds. Compare that to the previous Yoga model which was slightly thicker and weighed significantly more. It’s great for ig you are on the move, travelling loads.

If you spend a lot of time typing, then you’ll love the N20P keyboard. The buttons resemble the same thin style as with the high-end Lenovo laptops. The buttons have slightly curved bottoms, which actually helps improve typing accuracy. It also features the signature large Lenovo touch pad.

Screen

The screen is 11.6 inches, which is large enough to enjoy videos, but small enough to remain ultraportable. The hybrid swivel allows for turning the screen up to 300 degrees. Viewing from these off-angles can be problematic for some laptops, but the N20P has surprisingly good viewing quality from all angles.

Of course, the best thing about the screen is that it has touch capacity. It can be used as well as any tablet with the Chrome OS. Touch capacity is still new for the Chrome OS. It wasn’t designed to work with touchscreens in the same way Windows 8 is.

If there is any complaint about the screen it’s that the hybrid hinge just isn’t enough. It’s better than no hinge at all, but with the 300 degree capability, it seems like they should have just went the full nine yards and allowed for 360 degree swivel capability. Unfortunately it does not support such a wide range of motion.

Capability

As with any Chromebook, it has its advantages and disadvantages. The Chrome OS isn’t really designed as a replacement for Windows or Linux. It is a web-only operating system. If you’re comfortable using web-based applications, then it’s perfect for you. However, you can’t download and run typical .exe files and programs. That’s why many people use their Chromebooks in conjunction with standard laptops.

That being said, there is some decent computing power beneath the hood. The best models features a quad-core Intel Celeron Processor with up to 4GB of RAM.

If you’re new to Chromebooks and want a good, user-friendly model to get started with, then the N20P is perfect for you. It has enough power and functionality to handle almost any needs of the average user.

What is the Thinnest Netbook – A Review of the Thinnest Netbooks Around

There are a lot of netbooks on the market today, and they come in a range of shapes and sizes, from the small screened, compact models to the new range of ‘Ultrabooks’, which are incredibly light and wafer thin.

The Asus Zenbook 3, for example, is an ultra-thin laptop that features an Intel Core i7 processor, but has an amazingly lightweight design.

Ultrabooks have come an incredibly long way since they were first brought to the market, and they’re all so thin and light that it’s hard to really highlight one as vastly better than the other. Look at the HP Spectre 13, for example, if you’re in the market for a ‘barely there’ model. Or, Microsoft’s Surface Book – somewhere between a tablet and a laptop with plenty of horsepower in a tiny machine.

Dell’s new XPS 13 is a 13.3 inch ultrabook, screen-wise, but the footprint remains tiny compared to other machines with similar screen size, because there’s no bezel. The machine has good battery life and plenty of processing power,  and it’s very light.

If you like metal more than plastic, and are in the market for a cheaper device, take a look at the ZenBook UX305 – a sub $700 machine with enough battery power to last seven hours.

If you want Windows 10, then the Surface Book is the thinnest machine that you can get – and it’s also really powerful too, with an Intel Skylake Processor and its own Nvidia GPU, it is far more powerful than you would expect out of a laptop.

If you can’t afford the Surface Book (it certainly is a rather expensive machine), then the Yoga 900 is still a respectable machine, and at a lower price point these days, since it’s an older machine. it’s still small and light, and it’s quite stylish.

Machines are getting thinner and more powerful, and there are so many machines to choose from, it’s hard to single one out over the other.  Even if you get something like the Latitude 13, which is an Intel Core M based machine (so not as fast as the Skylake-powered machines), you can still bank on decent battery life and good (if not stellar) performance. Now is a good time to invest in a new Windows powered netbook or an ultrabook for yourself.

Samsung TV un65h7100 Review

un65h7100 reviews

Samsung has been known as creating some of the most revolutionary and high quality TVs on the market for a long time. There is a certain amount of quality that is hard to match for any other brand in the industry. Yet, what about some of the latest releases that have hit the market including the Samsung TV un65h7100? This model has hit the market recently and has been creating waves in the market for its overall excellence. Let’s take a deeper look at what this TV has to offer and what its pros and cons are. Does it live up to the hype that is being marketed on its behalf?

Fantastic Micro Dimming

The first pro that has to be mentioned would be the ‘micro dimming’ feature. This makes it easier to enjoy the quality of the picture in terms of contrast and brightness. The colors are more vivid and the blacks are truly black.

Smart TV Galore

The interface for the ‘Smart TV’ functionality is excellent and something that is worth mentioning. The interface is nice and clean along with being able to process information fluently. Along with the interface being excellent, the ‘SmartTouch’ remote is another added bonus that syncs well with the TV.

Supreme Quality

What is the most important thing for people who are on the market for a new TV? It all comes down to the quality that is being brought to the table and this TV is fantastic. The quality is beyond anything that is on the market because of the Samsung design that has become a staple of their TVs. Along with the micro dimming that has been mentioned above, it is packed with quality that is hard to match.

Seeing this TV in action is a must before making a decision. It is easy to notice the quality that is on offer immediately.

Audio Quality Is Average

The audio quality is one place where Samsung might have underdone themselves. However, most TVs that are being sold in this price range do not have audio quality that is worth boasting about. The best solution is to go with a soundbar or to just stick with what the TV is offering. It is not bad at all, but for those who are expecting a sound system type option, this is not it.

Concluding Opinion

Yes, the Samsung TV un65h7100 is a high quality TV that is impressive because of its build quality. It has excellent clarity and will ensure that you are more than satisfied with the quality that is on offer. There are many TVs that might have the brand power (even including some of the Samsung models), but that does not mean they are all good or worth purchasing. This is not one of those types of options, it is a big time winner that is going to earn praise for a long time to come. It is powerful and it is a downright fantastic TV. A must buy.

The Future is Multi-Functional Technology

Multi-functionality is certainly amongst the main sectors of technical advancement in recent times. Most people have observed lots of gadgets carry out an increasing number of functions as companies strive to compete in the profitable electronics market place. Televisions can connect to the Internet; even cars can connect with a remote server for GPS navigation help. Notebook computers now come integrated with mics and cameras. Portable game systems now possess wi-fi connectivity in order to download more content and compete with players from around the world. Products with several functions are certainly the way the industry is developing.

The prime example of this is the humble cell phone. They were once giant, necessitating users to haul it around with a strap over their shoulders. Eventually as technology continued to develop and technology costs decreased, the size was lowered and phone designers were able to add new features. In the beginning they were elements that are expected now. Colored screens, music players, cameras. It was once that customers could only send one SMS at a time and were only allowed to use 160 characters. Nevertheless, you can now easily post lengthier messages in the form of a chain of more than a single message (although it doesn’t count as only one message by suppliers – whenever you go over 160 characters you will then be billed for 2 messages etc.).

Nowadays, cellular phones are lean, mean, multi-functional machines. People can receive e-mails, catch audio and video, play games on them, create blog content with them and much more. It is challenging to think about a task that a mobile phone can’t do! They even have substantial memory sizes and some are capable of having a memory card. Plenty of customers like the efficiency and straightforwardness of using one product when compared to many. And because mobile phones are small and compact, they tend to be the best size for the various applications they have come to include.

It is without a doubt easy to understand just how technology convergence is going to continue on to be the driver of technology innovations. Several products in and outside the household are nowadays extremely smart and also showcase remarkably developed engineering, frequently allowing them to communicate with many other products in the home or on the net. People are now able to tweet with the kettle and listen to songs with the fridge. It is only a matter of time before many more technologies are incorporated into one.

This brings up the problem of where is technology able to go to? First of all, the ever-increasing level of popularity of tablet computers definitely will have a considerable factor in the advancement of technologies. Taking out the requirement of conventional hardware means that many more products will be capable of facilitating cutting edge technologies. Thus, if a product offers a level exterior then you will subsequently be able to interact with it. The futuristic designs found in many 1980s sci-fi movies are presently coming to fruition. Luckily the style predictions were not correct.

Nevertheless, it is absolutely feasible that web based technology will also carry on converging. We have observed a growth in multi-featured computer software and Internet sites. Customers no longer necessarily must download different software programs for diverse functions, many programs can intelligently operate effectively together. Likewise, online websites also offer a variety of features. People can be part of websites that will totally manage your Internet life for you: allowing you to import all your bookmarks, saving them enabling you to gain access to them from anywhere. Manage your passwords online with a single protected, safe password safe and then conveniently log into websites no matter where you are.

Electronics corporations will undoubtedly converge quite a few online and offline technologies so regardless of which gadget you use and where you are, you will be able to gain access to all of your files at any particular time. Bookmarks, account details, music, video clips, e-mails, work documents and so forth. Along with the web and Internet sites.

One of the best Laptop Tablet’s on the market…

ASUS Transformer Review

Transformer might seem like the name of a movie, but it is really the name that top computer maker, Asus, gave to its handy hybrid computer. The reason that this notebook computer is called a transformer is that the keyboard is removable, and the monitor is a touch screen. That means that this device can function as both a laptop with a full keyboard and a table computer with the keyboard on the screen!

Features Of The T200TA-C1-BL

The model number of the 2-1 computer by Asus that is being reviewed is T200TA-C1-BL. This is important to note because the company produces other models. Also, Asus is known a a company that produces all sorts of affordable desktops, laptops, and tablets that provide a good value for the money.

Before considering reviews, consider the basic features of the computer. These are features of this model:

  • A generous, 12-inch monitor display
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • 64 GB of storage capacity (Solid State Drive)
  • Detachable and fully-functional keyboard
  • Touch screen monitor
  • USB 2.0 port included
  • Ethernet port included

Other 2-1 Computers To Compare This Model To…

Just for comparison purposes, it is interesting to note that the Asus Transformer is often compare to the 2-in-1 300 by Dell. They both provide a good value for the price. However, some reviewers note that the Dell has a very good reputation for battery life and more storage space at a somewhat lower price.

Also, Asus makes a model, T100TA, that has a monitor that is one inch smaller than the model being reviewed in this article, and it is about $100 cheaper. It also has had good reviews of the battery life.

Great Features Of The Asus 2-1 Computer

People like the stylish look of this very modern computer. They also say that the keyboard is as comfortable to use as most full-sized keyboards. The display is large enough to use, and the storage can get expanded easily with the “smart” hard drive bay. The only major complaint is that the battery life could be better, and one owner said that he wished they would have found room to add a second battery.

Of course, it is always possible to carry an extra battery in the computer bag or even a pocket when people know they will be far from a charging station for awhile.

Biggest Advantages Of The Asus 2-1

This is a great product for photographers to carry around on the job. The display is clear, and it is very portable. While it wouldn’t be powerful enough to make a gaming computer, it functions very well as both a tablet computer or a laptop.

As of today, there is no one machine that will appeal to everybody. People who want a gaming machine would probably be better off putting together their own desktop machine and having a separate portable. However, this model travels very well from a desk to the road, so it is suggested for folks who want that flexibility.

Samsung TV (UN55HU7250)

Product Review

Curved TVs have been making a significant amount of noise on the market ever since they were first released. People are wondering what the pros and cons are of these TVs and which particular model is the best one to go with. This is an interesting question and to answer this, it is important to take a look at one of the biggest players in the game (Samsung) and what they have to offer in regards to curved TVs. The model that is going to be reviewed here is the Samsung TV (UN55HU7250). Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of this TV and whether it is worth the purchase or not.

Crystal Clear Picture

Let’s begin with the picture as that is what matters. Is the quality up to par with what you would expect? Yes, Samsung always delivers when it comes to quality and that does not change with this model.

The picture with the help of the ‘local dimming’ feature and the fact this is ‘4K’ means it is a winner. It simply does not get clearer than this on the market at the moment.

Excellent Interface

With Smart TVs, it is pertinent to see how well the interface reacts. Is it easy to use or does it seem to lag a lot? This is not an issue with Samsung’s latest model because the interface is as crisp as ever. It is wonderful as it is and then you add the voice recognition software and it just goes to an entirely new level in terms of quality.

There isn’t a single person who will complain about the user interface with this TV from top to bottom. It is flawless and you can tell how much work has gone into it by Samsung.

Splendid Build Quality

When you are making a purchase of this nature, you want to make sure the materials that were used are not flimsy. This is not a flimsy TV at all and will last for a long time. It is built to last and that is what matters most.

Not Enough 4K Content To Test Powers Of TV Yet

Now, there is one con (if that is what you want to call it) and it has to do with the amount of ‘4K’ content that is out there on the market. You might not be able to immediately start to test out the true powers of this TV, but that is not Samsung’s fault at all.

Concluding Opinion

This is indeed a spectacular TV and one that is going to be raved about for a while because of the quality that is on offer. The picture is crystal clear and for those who are wondering whether the curved feature is a gimmick or not, it certainly isn’t. This is one of the best parts about the TV, making it that much better in terms of aesthetics and overall quality.

For anyone that is looking to make a significant purchase for their home, this is the way to go.

VIZIO D50-D1 50-Inch 1080p Smart LED TV: A Review

If you’re intrigued by Smart TV features, but are put off by their high prices, you may want to take a look at the VIZIO D50-D1. Their 50-inch Smart TV offers an incredible value to consumers, as well as some very appealing features.

The TV comes equipped with all the features that you would expect from a modern TV. For example, it offers a genuine 16:9 aspect ratio, as well as a wide 178-degree viewing angle. You can see the TV clearly no matter where you are sitting in a room.

It has a built-in digital tuner, which means that it’s very easy for the TV to pick up digital broadcasts. It has three HDMI inputs, meaning that multiple devices can be hooked up to the TV at once. It is also fully wall mountable, which means that you can display your TV in the manner that you prefer.

With that said, it includes some unexpected features as well. It has built-in wifi, and buyers have full access to VIZIO internet apps. Some of these apps are incredibly appealing, and the average buyer should be able to get a great deal of use out of them.

The internet apps gives the TV the same kind of functionality as a Roku or Amazon Fire. The selection of apps offered is very impressive. While users will probably try things like Netflix and Hulu to start off with, they’ll eventually notice other, more unique apps.

There are a number of sports apps, which makes it easy to watch all the big games. There are also apps that are designed with sports fans in mind. As an example, there’s a fantasy football app. These features make the TV feel more like a computer than a standard television.

The TV is also fully integrated with social media. You can use things like Twitter and Facebook right from your TV. If you like to spend a lot of time on your social media accounts, you’ll be addicted to these features before long.

Of course, the wide selection of apps never detracts from the overall TV experience. If you want to ignore those features and watch TV shows or movies normally, you can. The Smart features aren’t at all invasive. It’s up to you whether you want to use them or not.

The picture quality of this TV is absolutely stunning. It displays films in true 1080p. There is very little screen glare, even when it is sunny outside. If you mess around with the factory settings, you should be able to get a near-perfect picture quality.

If you’re in the market for a new TV, and are intrigued by Smart features, the VIZIO D50-D1 should be one of the first TVs you look at. It’s a fantastic introduction to the Smart TV world.

This TV offers a tremendous amount of value to consumers. If you want to stretch your money as far as you can, then you’ll want to pick up a TV like this. The price point is phenomenal for what it offers.

The 3D Cinema Experience at Home

Going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it. Now that we have 3D movies I’m like a little kid in a candy store. I don’t need much excuse to go and experience the wonders of the fantastic new effects that 3D promises. Fortunately I have four little girls who also like an outing to the movie theater and enjoy a good 3D film as much as the next person and not just movies made for girls either.
3D movies work by making sure each eye sees a different image to the other, both taken from a slightly different perspective.

As each eye perceives the world from a slightly different perspective due to them being about 2 inches apart this effectively mimics the way we see the real world and creates a more realistic 3D image on a 2D screen. Every 3D image or movie you view uses this same principle but may go about it in a slightly different manner.

Anaglyph Stereo

Once a popular method anaglyph is now more of a novelty due to its poor picture quality. In case you don’t know the term anaglyph refers to the red and blue glasses which are usually made out of cardboard. The images for each eye have either a red or blue tint. The glasses filter out the correspondingly colored image so each eye sees a separate image. This works to a degree but the colors are somewhat muted so you wouldn’t want to watch a top notch feature length movie with them.

Active Shutter Glasses Stereoscopy

The technical term for active shutter glasses is alternate-frame sequencing. The different images are shown alternately. To make sure each eye only sees the correct image the shutter over that eye is made to go dark via liquid crystals in the lens. When the technology was fairly new many people complained of a visible flickering in the image. It’s for this reason that a TV needs to be have a refresh frequency of 120Hz or higher to double the frame rate of the animation on screen. Most new models of TVs and projectors being manufactured today are capable of this higher frequency.

Active shutter glasses have a couple of disadvantages. A disadvantage is that you either need to be tethered to a box with a cable or you need to buy batteries for glasses that operate remotely. This becomes very inconvenient when you have a large family. Active shutter glasses have been around for a while now so the technology that uses them has become quite affordable. If you only need one or two pairs of glasses then this would be the way to go.

Polarized Light Stereoscopy

As technology is always evolving new techniques for displaying 3D imagery are coming onto the market. A method that is currently being used in the cinemas is polarized light stereoscopy which can now project the two images, superimposed over each other, onto the screen at the same time. This method is now making its way into homes via the use of projectors. Lenses in the glasses are polarized so as to only allow one image to pass through to the eye.

While it has some very good advantages the one major disadvantage it has at the moment is the cost. As it’s still relatively new technology equipment is rather expensive. The images are projected so you will also need to buy a silver screen to get the best effect. A silver screen is needed to keep the light polarized so the image remains crisp and clear.

The polarized technique has some major advantages that will enable it to become the dominant method when prices finally do come down. Glasses are easier to manufacture and are lots cheaper and lighter than shutter glasses. Your audience can be larger and more spread out due to the large viewing angles that polarized stereoscopy provides. Shutter glasses also have a tendency to darken the image by about 20%. Polarized glasses can reduce this to about 10%.

Reasons Vizio are a Good Brand for TVs

TV sets have undergone a considerable metamorphosis in the last two decades. From the long-standing CRT monitors and Analog TV sets to the newer, brighter, thinner HD models. This transformational change has also been characterized by fierce competition among TV sets brands. Of particular interest would be the Vizio TV brand. Many have pondered why, Vizio, a company that saw its inception in early 2002, which has gallantly wrestled its way up the market and become one of the leading sellers of LCD TV in the United States. The following insightful points will help you grasp why Vizio brand has become a darling of the masses;

Price

Vizio saw a market opportunity in the TV sets industry after evaluating and analyzing how flat-panel TVs were being sold exorbitantly. Vizio reasoned that it was not be fair that flat-panel TV sets should cost an arm and a leg. Consequently, Vizio started to make a name for itself by selling low priced flat-panel TVs. Consumers were wooed! Not only by the affordability that came with Vizio TV’s, but also their fair quality TV sets.

Quality

Even though some heavyweight brands like Samsung have TV sets that offer perfect pictures, Vizio has also remained steadfast in coming up with high quality TV sets. As mentioned earlier, Vizio takes the cake due to their unbeatable prices. The E-series is a good example of a TV set that has been engineered to offer vibrant colors that will make sure that you get epic entertainment from your T.V Set.

The 3D Cinema Experience at Home

I love going to the movies. I probably always will. Now that we have 3D movies I’m like a little kid in a candy store. Any excuse is good enough for me to experience the fantastic 3D effects they are coming out with these days. Having four little girls who enjoy a 3D movie as much as I do gives me the perfect excuse to see all the latest CGI animations coming out.

3D movies work by making sure each eye sees a different image to the other, both taken from a slightly different perspective.

Because our eyes are separated slightly they each see the world from a different perspective. 3D movies mimic this effect thus giving the illusion of depth on a 2D screen. Whatever method of seeing 3D you are using they all use this same principle but go about it in slightly different ways.

Anaglyph Stereo

Once a popular method anaglyph is now more of a novelty due to its poor picture quality. For those who might not know anaglyph is the technical term for using glasses with red and blue tinted lens. The two separate images for the eye are created with either a red or a blue tint. The red or blue lenses filter out the corresponding image so each eye sees the different perspective. This technique is a novelty at best and is not really suitable for enjoying 3D movies in high definition full color.

Active Shutter Glasses Stereoscopy

Alternate-frame sequencing is the technical term coined for active shutter glasses. Each image is shown alternately on the screen. When an eye is not supposed to see the image it is blocked by the shutter over that eye going dark. When the technology was fairly new many people complained of a visible flickering in the image. It’s for this reason that a TV needs to be have a refresh frequency of 120Hz or higher to double the frame rate of the animation on screen. Modern TVs and projectors are more than capable of this however.

Active shutter glasses have a couple of disadvantages. Perhaps the biggest disadvantage is the need for a power source for the glasses. It can be provided via cable tethered to a power supply or via batteries. If you are blessed with a large family you are either going to create a jungle of cables or you will have a rather large expense for batteries. Active shutter glasses have been around for a while now so the technology that uses them has become quite affordable. Great news if you have a small or no family and only need one or two pairs of glasses.

Polarized Light Stereoscopy

Technology is always changing and new ways of displaying 3D imagery in the home are gaining market share. One such system uses polarized light for projecting images onto a screen and it is now possible to display both images on the screen simultaneously. Special polarized lenses in the glasses are polarized to only let in the correct image while blocking the other.

While it has some very good advantages the one major disadvantage it has at the moment is the cost. As it’s still relatively new technology equipment is rather expensive. Projectors are currently the best way to display the images so you will need to buy a silver projector screen to get the best effect. Silver screens reflect the light in such a manner as to ensure there is minimal depolarization for a crisper picture.

I believe polarized light stereoscopy will become the dominant method of 3D in the home eventually as costs decrease over time. The glasses are lighter, cheaper and don’t require batteries. Viewing angles are also greater giving you the ability to have a larger and more widely dispersed audience. If you use shutter glasses you can expect about a 20% reduction in brightness. Polarized lenses give you a much brighter image by only blocking out about 10%.
