In 2021, Canon will launch the 30fps EOS R3, eye-control AF Canon EOS R3, Sony ZV-1, and the Canon PowerShot Px. The EOS R3 marks the company’s first foray into 3D VR, dual fisheye lenses, and an 8K 60p Dual Base ISO powerhouse. Canon’s R3 also marks the company’s first foray into hybrid lenses.
Canon R1
While the release date of the next Canon camera is still unknown, there are a few things that we can expect. The new camera will feature a newly developed autofocus system. The company’s current mirrorless cameras use Dual Pixel CMOS AF II phase detection focusing, which works very well. The Canon R1 is expected to use a new Quad Pixel AF system, which will improve the camera’s subject detection and response to changes in the subject’s distance.
Canon’s mirrorless camera lineup has exploded forward in recent years, with powerful and affordable models with balanced feature sets. It’s likely that the R1 will follow suit, bringing the RF 28-70mm f/2L USM and RF 1200mm f/8L USM lenses to the market. Canon also plans to expand its RF mount lens lineup, and its next camera is likely to have a four-figure price tag.
While there aren’t any specific plans for a new R1 camera, it’s likely that it’ll replace the Canon EOS 1DX Mark III. The R1 will have very similar specs as the EOS 1DX Mark III. Considering that Canon’s R1 is expected to cost $6,499.
Canon EOS R5c
The Canon EOS R5c is a cinema camera that records 8K (8192×4320) footage internally. This new technology is offered in three flavors: standard, high and light. The camera also records 8K video in MP4 format. The camera offers dual card slots: one CFexpress and one SD UHS-II. ProRes RAW is also supported, but at only 8K 30P.
The Canon EOS R5 C gains many features from its siblings, including a true hybrid full-frame mirrorless camera. It supports 8K HDR video in HLG and Canon Log 3 gamma formats, as well as ProRes output at up to 8K/30p. It also supports proxy recording to an SD card, and offers a multi-function shoe and timecode terminal for easy video capture. Its 13 total assignable buttons allow you to customize how you shoot videos and stills with ease.
While the Canon EOS R5 C does not offer in-body stabilization, it does support ProRes RAW output and has HDMI out as well as an HDMI port. While the R5C lacks in-body stabilization, the camera offers excellent Dual Pixel autofocus. This is important for filmmakers as it enables them to capture more information while lessening the chance for subject motion blur.
Canon R7
If you’ve been waiting for a high-end mirrorless camera from Canon, the R7 is almost here. Due to its APS-C image sensor, it will be an excellent camera for action, sports, and wildlife photographers. The R7 has a number of features that professional photographers have come to love. Among those features are its fast autofocus and high-speed continuous shooting. It also boasts a huge, comfortable grip.
The APS-C sensor makes the camera 40% smaller than a full-frame model with the same resolution. This means that it’s lighter and more portable, which translates to better cost-performance. In addition, the camera’s structural design and material use were improved to further reduce its weight. The result is a camera that’s about the size of a pocketbook. And while the R7 will cost a bit more than its DSLR counterparts, it won’t break the bank.
It will also have a five-axis image stabilisation system, which compensates for shakes on five axes. The camera will also have an optical stabilisation system on Canon RF lenses, and has eight stops of compensation. The R7’s shutter speed can be adjusted up to eight stops, and its ISO range is quite wide, allowing it to capture a wide range of images. However, the R7’s sensor readout is likely to fall below 12-bits.
Sony ZV-1
The new camera from Sony is designed with video in mind. It features a 1 inch sensor, easy switching between photo and video modes, and a memory recall feature. The camera has plenty of controls and features to let you experiment with the picture quality, exposure, and other settings. You can take as many photos as you want, or simply record videos of your travels. And the battery life is impressive too. The ZV-1 comes with a bundled charger.
Full-frame cameras from Sony include the a6XXXX series. Full-frame cameras feature a sensor with the same dimensions as 35mm film. Smaller sensors are considered cropped, with a 1.5X crop factor. The a6XXX series has an APS-C sensor with a smaller field of view than a full-frame sensor. Sony will continue to expand its full-frame lineup in the future, with models like the ZV-1 and a6XXX.
The camera also features a hybrid AF system with 315 and 425 points. This combines contrast-detection and phase-detection AF. It has numerous focus modes and types and is near perfect when it comes to autofocus. This camera is great for people who want to record their own content and do not need a lot of features. If you are looking for a camera for vlogging, the ZV-1 is the one for you.
Panasonic PEN-F
The new Pen-F camera is a retro-styled camera with a variety of features and controls. It features an electronic viewfinder with 2.36 million dots and an articulating 3.0-inch 1.0-molecule touchscreen LCD. Its design is aimed at the old-school film enthusiast, but it also offers digital convenience with mechanical reliability. It can be a good option for making images of small objects and flowers.
The video quality is a standout feature of the Pen-F, with fine detail and a good dynamic range. One drawback of this camera is its lack of an optical low-pass filter. This means that fine detail may not be captured as well, and it also increases the chance of moire and aliasing. Nonetheless, if you’re considering making the switch to a new camera, the PEN-F is a good choice.
The GH6’s sensor is 5.2MP higher than the PEN-F’s, allowing you to take more photos and crop them more easily. It’s also worth pointing out that sensor resolution is not the only factor that affects resolving power. Other factors that determine the final resolution are the size of the pixel and the optical elements. The GH6’s sensor does not feature an anti-alias filter, which increases sharpness and detail while lowering the likelihood of moire in some scenes.
The PEN-F has a 20-megapixel Four-Thirds sensor, which is the highest resolution sensor from Olympus to date. It also has an EVF that tilts for improved viewing, which makes it a good choice for low-light shooting. It also offers 4K/30p video recording. With this camera, you can easily take pictures of wildlife, scenic landscapes, and more.
