The year 2022 is almost upon us and it’s time for another major camera upgrade, with companies like Canon, Sony, and Nikon planning to introduce new DSLR cameras. Those companies have all been hard at work improving their cameras, and it’s now time for their next big leap. Canon and Nikon are planning to launch new digital SLR cameras, while Panasonic and Fujifilm are also expected to release a new camera in this year.
Fujifilm X-H2
The new flagship camera from Fujifilm is scheduled to launch in May. The X-H1 has not been updated in five years, so it’s not likely to beat out a newer model. It will have to compete with the X-T4 and X-Pro3 in terms of sensor quality, speed, image stabilization, video, and battery life. Luckily for X-H2 owners, Fujifilm has already revealed a few accessories to make their life easier.
Although the X-H2 camera hasn’t been officially revealed, it will have an improved sensor and a 3″ Vari-Angle LCD display. The camera will also be weather-resistant. Until the camera is officially released, there is no official pricing information available. However, the X-H2S will feature a 5-axis in-body image stabilization and seven stops of compensation.
Aside from the new sensor, the X-H2 will also have a higher-resolution brother, the X-H2S. It will feature a non-stacked, 40-megapixel CMOS 5 sensor. Fujifilm will announce more details of the new camera at the X summit in September. The price of the new camera will be $2,499 without lens. It will be available in the UK and USA in early July 2022 for a price of PS2499 (£2499).
The X-H2 is a successor to the X-H1 that launched in 2012. The X-Processor 5 introduces AI deep learning, which makes it easier to detect cars, animals, planes, and trains. The camera weighs 900g, so it’s similar to a full-frame DSLR. The sensor is also incredibly sensitive, allowing for shallow depth of field, fantastic dynamic range, and faithful color reproduction.
