Samsung’s UN32D4000NM is a high-definition TV that comes with an advanced LED backlight. It also features a Freeview HD tuner and decent audio. It’s also available at a reasonable price. Let’s take a look at the main features of this television before you make your purchase.
UE32D4000NM has an advanced LED backlight
The UE32D4000NM has an LED backlight with an advanced design. The LED driver stage features an eight-channel TLC5960 with 20 LEDs at 120 mA each. The LED driver stage uses an intelligent headroom voltage monitor to minimize power loss when the forward voltage changes. This design incorporates an additional resistor to regulate the boost dc-dc output voltage.
The GB-LED backlight, which is used in the UE32D4000NM, features a wide color gamut. This is larger than that of sRGB and Adobe RGB. The GB-LED is a hybrid solution using green and blue diodes along with a red phosphor.
It has a Freeview HD tuner
This 32″ HDTV comes with a Freeview HD tuner and a set of HDMI ports. In addition to these, it has two USB ports and four component video inputs. It also has a wired Ethernet LAN port. Most TVs without a Freeview HD tuner do not offer this option.
In our test, the UN32D4000NM was the only television with a Freeview HD tuner, so it’s worth considering if you’re a Virgin or Sky customer. It’s bright and has competent picture quality for a 32″ TV. It’s also a good choice for people who already own a separate HD set-top box. The sharp, detailed picture quality was backed up by solid colours and above average standard-def upscaling.
