UN40C6500VF Review

The UN40C6500VF is a slim, stylish TV with high-end controls, and it evokes a sleek and modern aesthetic. This model also has a dejudder control system, which works much better than the LG dejudder system. It also has a number of useful features, including a dimmer and ultrathin design.

Color accuracy

UN40C6500VF delivers solid color for most scenes, but it has some issues in darker scenes. In darker scenes, the camera displays a bluish cast. This is likely due to the primary color red shifting toward blue, but the color cast was also noticeable in brighter areas. Near-black shadows and black areas also exhibited a bluish tone.

Color accuracy of UN40C6500VF was tested using the Mini Color Checker, a color measurement tool manufactured by GretagMacbeth. Color patches and shade tabs were measured three times in random order and compared to manufacturer data. The results are summarized in Table 2.

Color accuracy was good compared to other edge-lit LED-based models. It was also better than models from LG, Sony, Panasonic, and Vizio. This model’s most notable improvement was in dark scenes, but the overall image quality was also good. It had a simple yet elegant design.

The three camera/calibration models tested for color accuracy were all above a difference of one DE. One DE is the average difference between two human observers’ perceptions of an opaque color. The Canon D60/CMOS sensor with TI fell below 2.1 DE. Fortunately, even the cheapest digital camera models can meet this standard if they use the appropriate calibration protocols.

Image quality

The image quality of a television can be judged using a variety of methods, including subjective and objective image quality assessment. While subjective methods focus on human perception, objective methods depend on computer algorithms to determine image quality. While both methods are generally reliable, they may result in very different visual qualities.

The Sony UNC6500VF offered solid color in most scenes, but we did notice a bluish tint in the darkest scenes. This bluish tone may be related to the fact that red tends to shift towards blue, but it was noticeable even in bright areas. We also noticed the same bluish tone in black areas and near-black shadows.

Hybrid dimmer

The Hybrid(tm) dimmer is a powerful and energy-efficient dimmer for dimmer-equipped fixtures. It is a versatile solution for a wide range of entertainment lighting applications, from home theaters to game rooms. Its parallel wiring features a failsafe system, ensuring that if one LED goes out, the rest will stay lit.
