Lightest Laptops 2025

Whether you’re looking for a laptop that can double as a tablet, or simply want something that’s light enough to carry around with you, there are plenty of options out there.

Thankfully, the world of laptops has come a long way in recent years. Now, you can find some of the lightest laptops 2025 on the market that can handle a range of tasks.

1. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 is the latest iteration of the company’s flagship laptop, and it makes significant improvements to its predecessor. The biggest change is a switch from a 16:9 display to a 16:10 screen that adds more vertical real estate for displaying long documents and spreadsheets without having to scroll so much.

Despite this change, the X1 Carbon Gen 9 remains a great value for anyone looking to buy a business laptop that’s dependable and can withstand regular use in tough environments. It comes with plenty of security features to protect against malware, and the laptop also carries Intel’s Evo-certification, which means it will offer a longer battery life, faster start up times, and a better overall user experience.

With all these improvements, the X1 Carbon is one of the best laptops you can get for this price point. And if you want to extend the warranty and add services like on-site service or a longer battery, you can do that too.

As far as hardware goes, the X1 Carbon has a powerful CPU and a fast SSD. We ran a few benchmarks, and the laptop scored very well in single-core and multicore performance tests. However, you should expect a drop in the CPU performance when running longer duration loads such as Blender or Matlab.

It’s also worth mentioning that the X1 Carbon’s CPU can be upgraded to a six-core processor, though that costs extra. The device also includes a suite of security features, including a webcam privacy switch and a match-on-chip fingerprint reader that can be used to log in with Windows Hello. The X1 Carbon is also vPro-certified, so it offers additional security and manageability capabilities.

2. ASUS ROG X13 Flow

Asus ROG Flow X13 GV301RE is one of the lightest laptops 2025 and is perfect for gamers who want to play on the go. With a 3 pound body and a 360-degree hinge, it’s also small enough to easily fit into a backpack or even a briefcase.

With an AMD Ryzen 9 5900 HS CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU, the Flow X13 can handle even demanding games. However, while it offers great performance for everyday tasks, it can’t keep up with the Razer Blade 14 or Alienware m15 R4.

When I compared the Flow X13 to other gaming laptops in its category, it had one of the lowest scores on the table for performance. This is largely due to the on-board GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q graphics, which doesn’t offer much in the way of horsepower or framerates.

As far as visuals go, the Flow X13 offers a choice of displays that tailor to your needs for either serious gaming or creativity. Both edge-to-edge touchscreens feature a taller aspect ratio and more space for toolbars and tabs, letting you immerse yourself in Ultra HD detail or experience smooth gameplay on an FHD 120Hz panel.

The screen on the Flow X13 also features a new Corning Gorilla Glass DXC, which improves hardness by 40% while reducing surface reflections. This makes the Flow X13 more scratch-resistant and useable in brighter environments, too.

Its battery life is also good. During my testing, I was able to get 7 hours and 17 minutes of use while surfing the web and playing video games. That’s about what you’d expect from a gaming laptop with such high-powered components, though it does pale in comparison to the Flow X13’s predecessor, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14.

3. Razer Blade Stealth 13

The Razer Blade Stealth 13 is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a high-performance laptop with a slim body. It has everything you need for gaming on the go, including a Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics card and a fast Intel Core i7 processor.

The laptop uses a high-refresh rate display that delivers stunning color saturation. Its 13-inch screen is also bright and has a wide viewing angle. Its colors are rich and detailed, which makes games look more realistic than ever before.

If you’re looking for a great gaming laptop, there aren’t many options that can match the Razer Blade Stealth 13. This is because it is the first laptop from Razer to come with a discrete Nvidia graphics card.

We ran the laptop through 3DMark’s Sky Diver benchmark test, which is where we found out that this laptop was capable of playing even more demanding titles than a laptop without a graphics card like the Dell XPS 13 9300. That’s because the Razer laptop has an Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q GPU, which is a lower-power version of the GPU that you find in many other higher-end gaming laptops.

While that might not seem much, it’s actually a huge amount of graphical power for an Ultrabook. It blew past Ultrabooks that rely on internal graphics like the Surface Book 3, XPS 15 and MSI Prestige 14.

Besides the Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q graphics card, the laptop has a high-refresh rate display, a blazing-fast Intel Core i7 processor and an impressive amount of RAM and storage. It also has a long battery life and a sleek design that looks fantastic in any setting.

4. Eluktronics Max 15

Whether you’re looking for a high-performance gaming laptop or something portable to take to school, Eluktronics has got you covered. They offer value-oriented laptops that aren’t just powerful but also come with great customer support.

The MAX 15 is one of the latest models from Eluktronics and it packs plenty of power in a small form factor. It comes with a 15.6-inch display with a 1080P resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for gaming on the go.

Its RTX 2070 graphics card isn’t as fast as the RTX 2080, but it’s still capable of running most titles at high settings with a good framerate. In addition, the Max 15 is a lot lighter than many other RTX 2070 laptops and it features a temperature cap to help with thermal management.

This laptop is a great choice for gamers looking for an affordable option with high performance and great battery life. Its i7-7700HQ processor is powerful enough to run most modern games at medium or average settings and its 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD are easily upgradable for even more power if you’re an avid gamer.

Another great feature of this laptop is the fact that it’s compatible with a wide range of Windows software. This makes it easy to switch between programs and run multiple apps simultaneously.

There are a few other features that make this laptop a good buy, including a 720p display, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Additionally, it has a long battery life and comes with a sleek design that won’t draw too much attention.

As for design, the MAX 15 is a bit basic and boring by gaming standards, but it’s a great choice if you want a discreet laptop that won’t look out of place in an office or a meeting room. Its silver finish and lack of logos on the lid give it a minimalist look that doesn’t clash with other gaming machines.

5. Acer Swift 3

If you’re looking for a laptop that’s light enough to carry but powerful enough to handle everyday work, the Acer Swift 3 is an excellent choice. It features a sleek, all-metal design that’s easy to carry around, and it also offers great performance at an affordable price.

Its screen isn’t the sharpest on the market, but it provides excellent brightness, a wide sRGB color gamut, and good contrast. That’s important for watching movies and playing games on a laptop, especially one with a high pixel density like the Swift 3.

On the other hand, it’s not the brightest, so you may want to turn up the brightness if you’re viewing a lot of text or images on the screen. The screen covers a modest 78 percent of the sRGB color gamut, which is more than enough to see most colors, but it’s still not the most vivid display you’ll find.

Acer’s Swift 3 is available with either an Intel Core i5 processor or an AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, both of which perform well. In PCMark 8, the Swift 3 earned above-average scores for both Work and Creative workloads, which tests the computer’s ability to handle mainstream tasks like spreadsheets, word processing, web browsing, and video conferencing.

The i5-1035G4 runs at a base 3.7 GHz, while the more powerful i7-1135G7 is capable of up to 4.2 GHz. Both processors provide strong performance, and the i7 model’s faster base speed means it’s more power-efficient.

The Swift 3’s battery lasts very well for a 13-inch laptop, and you’ll be able to get close to 10 hours of real-world use on a single charge. Its port selection is decent, and there’s a fingerprint reader on the right edge for extra security.
